Solar water heating systems use free heat from the sun to warm
hot water. A conventional boiler or immersion heater is then

A grant of £300 is available for domestic customers. This
is known as the Renewable Heat Premium payment. A new incentive
scheme will be launched in the summer of 2013, called the Renewable
Heat Incentive Scheme. This is designed to further encourage
the use of renewable heat in the UK. Properties with solar thermal
panels will be eligible for payments for every kW of heat generated.
